jovino and I are just back from the MC FRONTALOT show at the Edinburgh Castle and man-o-man did we have a great time! : D
The band was a lot of fun (and very together) and they did all our favorites (well, ok, except for Goth Girls, but they did such a great job on everything else that we've just gotta cut 'em some slack) plus a few we'd never heard before. We've been wanting to see these guys for ages so I was super stoked when Jovino told me they would be performing in SF (we couldn't figure out why Front never seemed to perform, when he apparently lived in SF - well, turns out he used to live here... now he lives in Boston.) Back in his hometown tonight, he had a rockin' full house, as well as the support of his Mom and Dad, who were there running the merchandise table. Yay, Mom and Dad. Yay, Frontalot!
We had an absolute fucking BLAST at the show!
And, it's been a particularly nrrdy day. We started out having to run over to San Leandro, to pick up a package that Fed Ex had mistakenly decided to send back (they managed to deliver "box two of two" to the warehouse but somehow could not find the same address for box ONE of two... luckily Jovino caught this before it got far and we were able to pick it up at their medium security San Leandro facility.) On the way, we spotted a costco, where we stopped to procure some essential supplies. While roaming the aisles, we encountered a gentleman who we'd seen last weekend at Rakkasah handing out fliers for an anime con (to be held - where else - at the SJ Doubletree.) We stood and talked with him until our frozen oj was completely melted, and got the skinny on his con, which sounds like it's going to be super rad time! It's over St Patricks weekend in 2007, and if he manages to pull off even part of what he is planning, it should be the place to be! Perhaps we'll have a table in the dealers' room. It was a lot of fun hearing about his plans - it sounds like it is going to be a really amazing con.
After that, we headed back home and I cooked dinner while Jovino worked on his latest project - a funky chandelier for the living room. It looks GREAT! We horfed down our risotto and sautee'd spinach, and headed over the bridge to SF. After a rad show and some fun chance encounters with friends, we are back home, in front of our keyboards. Life is good! And nerdcore hiphop (could) reign supreme. Aww Yeah!
(Plus, I am still enjoying the HELL out of my awesome Zojirushi electric tea kettle - hot water on demand! This tea addict is overjoyed. Thank Fucking God it finally arrived! Love that thing. I kept thinking that once it came, the rain and cold would end. Well, they haven't - but - it's harder for me to care, since I have an electric tea kettle! Its flow be fresh.) Dayum - Life is GOOD!
