this afternoon I had an audition with the owner of a company in SF which is in the business of hiring out readers for events, and it went really well! I am proud to say that I am now the newest reader on her roster. YAY YAY YAY!!!
I managed to get in a fair amount of prep/study in between the time she told me she was looking for someone and our actual interview this afternoon and it paid off pretty well. I was still nervous (of course - it's always a challenge to read for those I perceive as experts) and I certainly can't say I'm a perfect reader or anything like that but she was pleased with my efforts and gave me some really handy pointers. I can hardly wait until my first real job!
most of the gigs they get are wanting shorter, lighter readings - most folks will be there to be entertained (or out of curiosity) and so won't be expecting anything too intense. this doesn't mean we don't tell the truth, just that readings will be fairly brief and that it is especially important to keep it as positive as possible, while actually reading what the cards say. I think I can do that.
so basically I'm *almost* a pro. woot!
I'll be posting more about this in the future (lol, is that a prediction?!) %-P
I'm also seeking peeps who would like to sit for a reading with me. any question you want (as long as it's a you-question, I'm not gonna read George Clooney's cards for ya). got to practice! besides, it's fun to read for friends. free if you come to me, otherwise negotiable. let me know!
