well actually we're not really desperate... I just treated myself to the first two X albums, remastered (and with a ton of extra cuts - they were hella short so there is plenty of room on the CD.)

man, I used to LOVE this music!

even remastered, it all sounds a bit thin. I know they were made on a shoestring. still the energy is ALL there! what an amazing band. there was never anyone else even remotely like X. I knew people who argued that X wasn't really punk. my response was that most other punk bands just didn't know how to play very well so their music sucked!

I'm hearing: X - Los Angeles

X is really always and forever my favorite punk band!

I was thrilled to be in a film where Exene had a cameo role -- "Unhung Heroes". A film made by an FTM director, Lazlo Ilya Pearlman, about trans men doing a store heist to get money for a new Italian phalloplasty surgery! Exene was a character in a car who threatened to kill us with her shotgun if we robbed her. It was shot in LA and people there thought it was a real robbery, or were unsure, being LA. We were all dressed in Reservoir dog outfits.

X rules!

yeah, they are my forever favorite too. in a way, they ruined the rest of punk for me because, why couldn't ALL of it be that good?

I think you could also argue that they were the first rockabilly band (but, that doesn't make them not punk!)

I hear they are touring again (and with Billy Zoom! apparently, someone who hadn't been paying much attention wanted to book them, and contacted him, not realizing he had left years ago (before the "See How (bad) We Are" album.)

anyway, he figured why not, and now they are touring with the original lineup!

I saw them back in '85 or '86... man that was an awesome show! I would totally go now too, so if you hear they are coming here, hit me up, yo!
