do you know how the blessing for sneezing started? waaayyy back when... they knew the heart stopped when you sneezed so, to ward off the devil from entering the body during that moment, people were blessed. old folk stuff. and the knocking on wood? houses used to be build of wood and have all kinds of thick wood for tables and such so they would consistently bang on all of it because they thought it would scare off those dang evil spirits.
