It's the 21st Century!
As I type here over my wifi, a robot is mopping the kitchen floor. Oh happy day!

Still no jetpacks, but this ain't bad.

(Yes it is quite the luxury, but hopefully it'll keep it clean in here and free up our chore-doing time for other, non-robot-manageable chores.) So far so good!

The cat doesn't know what to think.

It's pretty rad. We still need to spot clean stuff (cat barf, especially dirty areas) but it did an amazing job overall, and you should have seen the dirty water that came out of the tank when it was done!

I also found out that you don't have to use the (expensive) proprietary scooba juice - you can use vinegar and water, or simple green and water - both of which are probably more envorinmentally friendly than the standard cleaning solution. Hooray for the internet - there are some great user forums out there. :-)

That is wild! They mop too now? I know that they vacuum. Wow, I need one.

well, it's two separate units - but, yes, this is the same people who created the vacuuming robot. my hat is so off to them! why send a person to do a robot's job?!

So funny!

Davor actually just bought me a Roomba and I'm LOVE with it!! I put it to task when I leave for work in the morning and I come home at night and it's sitting in it's cradle like a good little robot.

(my cats are also a bit perplexed)

Re: So funny!

haha, isn't it great?

so, do you have rugs or carpet, or just hardwood? we have a lot of rugs here and the performance of the scooba has convinced me that a roomba would be great (especially for the big living room) as long as it can handle rugs.

Re: So funny!

I have just hardwood, but it's supposed to work well with short thread(?) rugs.

Davor has threatened to cover Mr. Roomba in fur and googlie eyes. I can see this being something you might want to look into for your own robots. :)
